The new trend on the internet is Podcasts. It’s just people talking without any video or images, like audiobooks. They’re being preferred to video and movies by some people, and even though they’ve been around for some time, they’ve only taken off recently, in the past few years. To see what the craze is all about, I decided to use them for some time, and now I think I can give you my own opinion on them. One of the main reasons I think the Podcasts have taken off is that people are spending a lot more time in front of screens and since podcasts don’t have any video, people like to relax and take a break without any screens while also consuming content. You might have heard of audiobooks: people dictating the book that you would otherwise have to read. Some people have problems with reading because it puts a lot of strain on their eyes. The same goes for podcasts. Since a lot of things are done online nowadays, podcasts give people a break from the screens. They also help some people go to sleep and this can be helpful because using screens before going to sleep can cause problems with your sleep.
There are several apps that you can use to listen to podcasts, including Google Podcasts, Apple Podcasts, Spotify etc. and most of these apps are free. I especially liked Apple Podcasts, but that’s only on Apple devices. If you don’t have an Apple device, I would recommend Google Podcasts, which is free and is available as a web app if you’re using a laptop or a desktop. There are lots of types of podcasts and I’m sure there are podcasts for all kinds of people with all kinds of interests. I, personally, like tech podcasts, and I’ve got quite a few that I listen to a lot. There’s a lot of information that you can get using podcasts and I use them to get some information for this blog, information that I wouldn’t have got otherwise. I think that these podcasts are really helpful, and I’m also listening to one right now.
One of the main groups of people that podcasts are really helpful for the students. Online teaching is THE way of teaching in the time of COVID-19 and students are spending a lot of time on screens nowadays. Podcasts can be really helpful for giving your eyes a break and relaxing without screens while also consuming content. The duration of these podcasts varies depending on what podcasts you’re watching, with some being just over half an hour and some being more than three hours long. I listen to podcasts of all durations, and I don’t usually listen to the whole podcast in one go.
These podcasts are really helpful for me and I would recommend listening to them. They’re great for consuming content while also protecting your eyes. Podcasts will also be really helpful for people who have to do a lot of work on computers. Working on screens for long periods can put a lot of strain on your eyes. Podcasts can help with that, consuming content and going to sleep, so I would recommend that you try them.
