Galaxy Tab S6 Lite: Finally A Good Budget Android Tablet

Samsung has launched the support pages for the leaked Galaxy Tab S6 Lite. Also Samsung Indonesia’s store page, has already listed the Tab S6 Lite.

So, what is this tab like? One word - Awesome. This tab packs a punch and is here to compete with apple’s iPad. Price wise the Tab S6 Lite is expected to come at about Rs.29,999. Compare this to the iPad which comes at Rs.29,990. But, the thing with Tab S6 Lite is that it comes with a S-Pen out of the box. However, with the iPad you have to spend another Rs.8000 to Rs.9000 to get an Apple Pencil. This substantial increase in the price just to get an accessory which Samsung includes out of the box, makes me like the Tab S6 Lite more than the iPad.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Lite

Let’s go more in depth and talk about the specs. It has the Exynos 9611 chipset which is Samsung’s gold standard for budget devices nowadays. It is more than enough for getting your basic tasks done even for gaming. You can get smooth performance both in normal tasks and in gaming. My M30s has this exact processor and I use it too for multitasking much of the time and have never once got a sluggish response. When we see that in a tablet, multitasking will be much easier due to its large form factor.

Talking about form factor let's get to the display. It has a 10.4 inches 1200x2000 panel which means that you can play upto 1080p videos on this device. It has a TFT panel instead of the Super Amoled panel like on the newer budget smartphones but a TFT panel is OK in my opinion. It gets the job done and also supports the S-Pen unlike the Super Amoled one on the S5e. All in all, I am quite satisfied with the display.

The operating system is also great as it comes with One UI 2.0 based on Android 10 out of the box. This also means that you will get an upgrade to Android 11.

It comes in two storage options one with 4GB RAM, 64GB Storage, the other with 4GB RAM, 128GB Storage. This storage is also expandable via a micro sd card slot which is not present in the iPad. This brings me to another point, the 3.5mm Headphone Jack. This tab has a headphone jack, what else do you want ? But, seriously having a headphone jack is a blessing. You can listen to music or watch study related videos all without disturbing anyone around you.

Study. This is a major feature of this device. Samsung is marketing this as a cheap yet useful tablet that is an ultimate note taking machine. And it is true as well. Getting a tablet this cheap which comes with a stylus with so many features out of the box is a very nice thing.

Why do I get this over the iPad ? Apps. The popular study app Byju’s only offers its premium app on the Android OS. Also the extra cost of the iPad moves it out of the budget of most of the people. Why do you have to pay almost one-third of the cost of your device to get a basic accessory ?

So, is it good enough to buy this tablet? Absolutely. If you are a student, you can get this tablet for cheap and won’t miss out on any features. I really recommend buying this tablet for your schoolwork if you need a good budget tablet and you won’t regret this decision.

LG Wing: The Most Innovative Implementation of Dual-Screens Yet

So, LG has officially announced its swively phone: the LG wing. It’s very unique, to say the least. It has two screens, a larger one and a smaller one. But the implementation of these screens is very different from any other dual-screen phone on the market. The screens here are stacked on top of each other and the larger screen is on top. So, how do you get to the second screen? Well, it should be pretty obvious by now that you have to swivel away the first screen to use the second. You can use both screens at the same time and it looks like a T-shape. Now, let’s get into the specs and use cases for this phone. We don’t have a price on it yet but we can discuss the specs and features without the price. Do keep in mind that I cannot make a recommendation on it yet. With all that out of the way, let’s get into it.  LG Wing: The Swively Phone First things first, it’s a 5G phone, so that’s a good thing. The processor is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G. It comes in two versions, one with 8GB...

Note 20 Ultra: The Best of Mobile Productivity?

So, Samsung’s Note 20 Ultra caught my attention. It’s a month old phone, and one that people might ignore, but I thought that it was worth talking about. It’s a nice phone, but the price seems to have driven people away. It was advertised as a phone made for enterprise, top-of-the-line users that can spend a ton of money on their phones. Today, we’ll see whether it’s worth the money that it takes to own it. The first thing is the price. This phone has a high price, starting at Rs. 1,04,999 in India and $1,099 in the US. You might think that the price is too high, but you should remember the fact that this is a phone meant for enterprise users, so they can probably afford to spend this much on a phone.  The next thing is the CPU. This phone has Samsung’s own Exynos 990 chipset everywhere except the US, where you get a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+. The global CPU, Exynos 990 is Samsung’s CPU, so we can’t compare it, but it’s a very powerful chip, and it is great for productivity. The US ...
